Baltimore Deep Sea Angling Festival

Welcome to Ireland’s Premier Sea Angling Tradition

Since 1967, Baltimore, Co. Cork has been home to the Baltimore Deep Sea Angling Festival – a thrilling four-day competition in some of the richest fishing waters in the Atlantic.

Renowned for its great fishing and legendary camaraderie, the festival attracts around 70 anglers each year from across Ireland and abroad, making it one of the longest-running and most respected sea angling events in Europe.

Celebration & Community

Each day ends with prize presentations for the winners. The festival concludes with a prizegiving dinner, where anglers and friends gather to share stories, celebrate achievements, and enjoy the warm hospitality that Baltimore is famous for.

Conservation at the Heart

The festival emphasizes sustainability and responsible fishing.

  • Sharks and skate are carefully tagged and released.
  • Other catches are measured on a points system, ensuring that fish not needed for the table are returned safely to the sea.

Baltimore Deep Sea Angling Festival badges

Every angler at the Baltimore Deep Sea Angling Festival receives a high quality metal badge manufactured by the Birmingham firm of W.O. Lewis Ltd. The first badges were donated for the 1992 festival by Richard Usmar. Since then this unique tradition has been maintained with an original new design every year.
